Note from Nilmini: Honoring the Transformation

It’s spring... I think. The weather suggests we’ve moved past winter, but in true Colorado fashion, I’m sure there’s one more storm hiding up its sleeve. As the temperatures rise, I find myself growing restless. There’s this strong urge to get EVERYTHING done—yesterday. I love crossing things off my never-ending to-do list, and sometimes I feel like I get a bit addicted to productivity.

This year, with a full plate of clients, there’s certainly no shortage of tasks to tackle. But what I’ve noticed is a shift within myself as I work hard to ensure nothing important slips through the cracks (thankfully, my wonderful team helps make sure everything gets done). The rush of “getting it all done” often leaves little time to focus on what I truly love about my work. While many realtors focus on the transaction itself, I take the time to honor the transformation each client experiences during their journey. It’s not always something tangible, but I truly hope it’s an experience they feel when working with me.

The “things and stuff” involved in buying or selling a home can certainly be overwhelming. I am deeply honored every time someone trusts me to walk beside them in this process. But if I’m not careful, I can go from creating a space for the “things and stuff” and the emotions that come with it to literally carrying it all in my heart. And when I feel that shift, I work to detach myself from holding everything, to simply honoring everything. There’s a metamorphosis that happens when you move. You’re stepping into a new chapter of your story, and it’s so important to pause and honor that transition in as sacred a way as possible. Otherwise, we can just keep rushing through life and miss out on truly living it.
